Daily we are reminded that we would be nothing without God's salvation, guidance
and protection. He blesses us in many ways- particularly in bringing people into
our lives to encourage, support and shape us into the people we are today. We
would like to dedicate this page to those people. The list of thanks will be ever
growing, but here are some names with which to begin. Our
family Jasper and Bessie Brown, for being our grandparents
and great grandparents, for all the olives, hand painted china, beautiful Christening
gowns and your support and love. Pete and Janet' Corwin, for being the
greatest parents and grand parents EVER. For being our constant supporters, for
inspiring Mom and Dad to educate us kids at home and for coming to our family
performances and ALL of our piano recitals. Jeremy and Laurie Corwin and family,
for being our uncle and aunt and cousins and Mom and Dad's brother and sister-in-law
and nieces and nephews and for your love and support. Thank you to Uncle Jeremy
for tutoring us oldest kids and rescuing us from the woes of ill-explained algebra,
calculus, physics and trig. We are forever grateful!! Chris Corwin, for
being our uncle and Mom's brother and for your love and support and for always
helping us to rescue our computer and for all the crazy things you did as a kid
- they make awesome stories... Mark and Carolyn Corwin, for being our uncle
and new aunt and Mom and Dad's brother and new sister-in-law. For teaching us
kids to swim, stick out our tongues, play chess, and how use our brains. Thank
you for the late night Monopoly games, all the long distance phone calls and for
making your friends our friends. We love you. Drew and Leah Merklinghaus and
family, for owning one of our favorite vacation spots (your house) and for
being our aunt, uncle and cousins and Dad and Mom's sister, brother-in-law and
nephews. Thank you for being our greatest supporters, for your friendship and
for all the shopping trips, hand-me-downs, candy shopping sprees and memories.
WE LOVE YOU GUYS. Joe and Mary Moffit, for being our aunt and uncle and
Mom and Dad's sister and brother-in-law. Thank you for your love and support and
to Aunt Mary for the Jelly Bellys and for teaching us kids that tapioca was frog
eyes and broccoli was, in reality, little trees. Renee' and Michel Rey and
family, for being our aunt and uncle and cousins and Mom and Dad's sister
and brother-in-law and nephews. Thank you for all your support, love, Rochlette'
and cultural experiences. ( = Leon and Maridel Voetberg, for being the
greatest parents, grandparents and neighbors EVER . For letting us beg, borrow,
and steal from your pantry, for being our loyal fans, and for supporting us in
everyway, large and small. Lillie Voetberg, for being the greatest grandma
and great grandma EVER. For the musical heritage that you passed on to us and
for always letting Dad hang out at your house while he was growing us and for
always letting us hang out at your house as we're growing up. Skip and Julie
Voetberg and family, for being our aunt and uncle and cousins and Dad and
Mom's brother and sister-in-law and nieces and nephews. Thank you for always remembering
our birthdays and for the love, support, friendships, and memories.
Our
friends
Margaret Brank, for being our very first strings teacher and for introducing
us to the wonderful world of fiddle. We will always be grateful for this! Thank
you for all your support and insight. The Booher Family, for memories
of camp that we cherish, for igniting in us an enthusiasm for fiddling and related
music that will never die and for being our friends, supporters, and brothers
and sisters in Christ. Rudi and Carla Booher and family, to Rudi for
being our fiddle teacher, and to you both for hosting us at your house
and to Carla, for gut busting laughs and fun times and, finally, for being our
friends. Justin and Desiree Booher, for meeting our musical needs exactly,
for your enjoyable company, for giving us motivation, arrangements, musical
tips, and for being friends and guests at our "bed and breakfast."
Hanneke Cassel... Hanneke, Hanneke.
Thank you for being the best roommate, the best teacher of Disconnect (we'll
forgive you someday) and best Celtic fiddler player who was ever in our family.
We love you! Robin Chadwick, for being our piano teacher, for teaching
us how to "build cathedrals" on the foundation that Linda formed and
how to phrase, memorize backwards, and polish our pieces. Thank you, also, for
your example of generosity and graciousness. Tristan
and Tashina Clarridge, for being such wonderful friends and humble role
models. Thank you for your expertice and for all the good times and late
nights - Shasta and non-Shasta. We love you! District 9 Old Time Fiddlers,
for the encouragement when we were just beginning, the jams and tunes, the
scholarships to camp and the friendships that support us. Floyd
Domino, for letting us crash in your house for a day, for generously
giving of your time and for being an example of musical excellence. Thank you,
especially, for being inspiration and encouragement. You have been such an affirmation.
Thank you for being our friend and inspiring us to pursue music... for the enjoyment
of music. Dale Erickson, for making our family your hobby. We are so
glad you did. It is difficult to perform with anyone beside you behind the sound
board (it is hard to adapt, you know, when we have been used to the best ( ;
). Thank you for being our friend and sound man...both are priceless. Dallas
and Linda Fast, for being like family to us, for always supporting us, and
to Linda for being the best piano teacher in the world, and for the enthusiasm
and love of music that you have passed on to each of us kids, for the lunch
dates to Pizza Hut and for mentoring us in our walks with Christ as well
as in our own teaching endeavors. Tom and Sue Homan, for being our very
first, self professed groupies! To Sue for volunteering your time and guidance
in designing our first web site. You are very special friends. Devin
Swecker, how did we manage before you began hanging out at our house?
You have spent countless hours assisting our family with our web site, our CD
project and life. Without you, "Jewels" would not exist in its current
state. You inspire us musically and spiritually, plus you have broadened our
sense of humor. ( ;
